Mary Pierce is the founder of MaryPierceLaw and has been practicing labor and employment law since 1999.  Over the last approximately twenty years, Ms. Pierce has represented clients across various industries, including education, nutrition, food and beverage, manufacturing, transportation, healthcare, entertainment, hospitality, and non-profits.

Ms. Pierce has extensive experience drafting personnel policies, employee handbooks, employment agreements, confidentiality agreements, and non-competition agreements.  She has negotiated severance agreements, settlement agreements, and executive employment packages.

 

Ms. Pierce has been lead counsel in arbitrations, mediations, and court and administrative hearings.  She has defended employers before federal and state court as well as the California Labor Commissioner, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the California Employment Development Department, the Department of Labor, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

 

Before starting MaryPierceLaw, Ms. Pierce spent four years at Blank Rome LLP, a full-service, multi-disciplinary law firm with offices worldwide.  Prior to Blank Rome LLP, Ms. Pierce spent nine years at Knee, Ross & Silverman, a law firm specializing exclusively in labor and employment law.  While at Knee, Ross &  Silverman, Ms. Pierce spent two years working in-house at a Fortune 500 food and beverage conglomerate.  Ms. Pierce began her legal career at Irell & Manella LLP, a premier law firm with a nationally ranked practice.

 

Ms. Pierce earned her Juris Doctor from USC Gould School of Law and graduated Order of the Coif.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, San Diego.
